When you create an account or contact us, we collect the details you give us, including:

  • Your full name and work email address;
  • Your password (stored in encrypted, hashed form);
  • Your company or brand, professional role, and primary market or country;
  • Your communication preferences, such as whether you opt in to The Review briefings.

Information collected automatically

When you use the Platform, we may automatically collect technical and usage data such as your device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, and interactions — typically through cookies and similar technologies.

03 How We Use Information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and administer your account and provide the Platform's features and Content;
  • Send you the briefings, updates, and service messages you have requested or that relate to your account;
  • Personalise and improve our Content, intelligence, and user experience;
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms;
  • Comply with legal and regulatory obligations.

04 Legal Bases

Where applicable data-protection law requires it, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases to process your information: performance of our contract with you (to provide the Platform); your consent (for example, for marketing emails, which you may withdraw at any time); our legitimate interests (such as improving and securing the Platform); and compliance with legal obligations.

05 Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Platform functions. Further detail is set out in our [Cookie Notice].

06 How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in limited circumstances:

  • With service providers who process data on our behalf (for example, hosting, email delivery, analytics, and payment processing), under appropriate confidentiality and data-processing terms;
  • Where required by law, regulation, or valid legal process;
  • To protect the rights, safety, and property of The New Pour, our users, or others;
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.

07 Data Retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, then for a reasonable period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.

08 Data Security

We apply administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09 International Transfers

The New Pour serves members across Africa and beyond, and your information may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer personal information internationally, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this Policy and applicable law, using appropriate safeguards such as [standard contractual clauses].

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you;
